The Price Of Football – BBC Survey
The BBC’s survey of 166 clubs’ pricing structures has been revealed today, and ultimately confirmed what we all knew. The BBC report found that “the average cost of the cheapest adult ticket in the top four divisions of English football has risen by 11.7% – more than five times the rate of inflation” and that “the average price of the most affordable ticket in league football has gone from £19.01 to £21.24” in the past year alone. All of this will come as no surprise to anyone who regularly goes to watch their team, but just a quick scan over the survey allows you to provide a little context to your bi-weekly moan down the boozer. For example, you can now tell your mates that “The most expensive tea in British football can be found in Manchester, where both City and United charge £2.50.”.. How exciting.
